Lions Law Camp, Vincennes
Zephyr and I went to speak at the Lions Law Camp in Vincennes last Friday. We were joined by a K9 officer team. The dog was Maxwell, but I don't remember the officer's name. We were at a park next to the George Rogers Clark Memorial. The rotunda in the second picture is the memorial. Note the walkway light in the lower left for scale. Zephyr checked out a cannon by the visitor's center. We also looked at the statue of Francis Vigo. In the last picture, Zephyr is protesting that the statue is ignoring him rather than coming down to play.
16 weeks
This is Zephyr at 16 weeks of age. The second photo shows him after going out in the rain. One of my co-workers came over to fuss over Zephyr as it started to sprinkle. The co-worker asked Zephyr 'What are you up to?'. I answered that he was saving up so he would have to go out in the rain. Sure enough, as soon as it started pouring, Zephyr asked to go out. The last picture is Pico's collar hanging from the fence. I unbuckled the collar so that I could go get the pliers to remove it. If I hadn't been there, he might have succeeded in hanging himself.

Flowers
I have never seen a dog go after flowers the way Zephyr does. I try not to let the grounds- keepers see him doing this, but I couldn't resist a few pictures. If I could have come up with a reasonable boy's name out of dandelions, that would have been his name. From the very beginning, stopping on our way home with him, he would run up to dandelions and rip their heads off. These pictures are all from this week.
15 weeks
These pictures are at age 15 weeks. He is starting to go whole mornings without making a deposit in the front lawn at work. He typically spends the first hour of work chewing on a bone. Then we go out and he relieves himself. Then he settles for awhile and may even sleep for a bit. Between 10 and 11, he walks out to the end of his leash and whines, and we go out again. The rest of the morning, he alternates between sleeping and chewing on bones. I bought him a new bone yesterday after we went to the vet. He received his rabies shot and another of the puppy booster shots.
Water Dog
We took Zephyr out to the lake, but he wasn't as interested in water as we expected a water dog to be. So, we bought him a kiddie pool. He has been having a lot of fun sticking his whole face into the water to grab the stems that fall off the bush. The best part, of course, is to run inside and rub his face dry on my legs.
