Gentle Leader

I have Zephyr wearing a Gentle Leader now instead of the slip collar. He has tracheal bronchitis, and the vet said no pressure on the windpipe until he's better. Zephyr doesn't fight the Gentle Leader, but he's not particularly fond of it. He's learning that he has to wear it if he wants to go to work in the morning, so he'll let me put it on, but he periodically rubs against my leg to get it off. He also rolls around on the ground when we go out to park.

He still has freedom to eat and drink and chew bones, and it's not cutting in to his fun - we took him with us on our camping trip this past weekend. It rained exces- sively, but we stayed pretty dry in our cabin. The bottom picture is Zephyr sitting under the picnic table in the cabin, sitting pretty to see if any of the people didn't know the rules about him not getting food.

6 months old

These pictures are all of Zephyr at 6 months old. He still loves to carry off shoes. He hasn't destroyed more than a couple, but he likes to have them in his mouth and entice our other dog to chase him.

Water dish problems

I'm pleased to report that Zephyr is healthy and back on dog chow. We visited the vet last week who prescribed a course of with- holding food for 24 hours and resuming with bland food - rice and chicken, lowfat cottage cheese, or ham- burger. We spent the week switching him back to his regular kibble.

Zephyr is having trouble with his water dish at work. He was drinking today and the water started bubbling all around his face. He backed up to look at these strange bubbles and the water went calm all of a sudden. He continued drinking and the water bubbled again. When he tried to look again, the bubbles were gone. He tried to see those bubbles three times before he decided I was acting weird and needed to be checked out (I was laughing myself silly watching him).

These are various pictures from the past couple of weeks. He is 5 months old in all of them.
